Will The B&W Patriot Slider Base Fit on My Existing Rails in my Truck

Updated 04/29/2026 | Published 04/25/2026

Question:

My question is I installed a Bw patriot 18k fifth wheel in my truck and I may need more clearance for tight turns.I found that I may need to get the BW slider bracket and install my fifth wheel head on it. Will the slider bracket mount to my existing brackets already installed. It has a pin at each corner. I was looking at the 3270 was the last 4 numbers on the bracket I looking at.

Hey Kevin.

It sounds like you’re looking at the B&W Slider Base # BWRVB3270, and if that’s the case, you’re on the right track.

That base will work with your setup, you can mount your existing B&W Patriot head right onto it, and it will give you the added clearance you’re looking for in tighter turns.

It’s also designed to fit standard above-bed rails, so it will be compatible with the rails you already have installed in your truck.

What kind of truck are you towing with right now?

Yes the slide bracket will mount to the base you have. Also depending on the direction of your triangle mounting bracket, the upper hitch plate sits on. I found if you switch positions of them you gain a few inches.

@Robert You're right! You can change the direction the pivot arms are at to get a slight offset if needed.
