Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for your front axle. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1994 to 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 four wheel drive trucks, also fits the 2011 and newer Ram 2500 and 3500 four wheel drive trucks. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website.
Use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work for your application.Now these helper springs will upgrade your vehicle's front suspension for improved driver control and comfort. They'll support any heavy front end loads to keep your vehicle level and they'll help to absorb bumps and shocks, help minimize sway. They do offer progressive load control, which means the springs will compress according to the weight of your cargo. So if you have a lighter load, the springs compress easily at first for a nice soft engagement and less bumpy ride. And if you have a heavier load, the springs will compress by as much as 80% for support.
These springs do work independently from each other to compensate for off center loads, help reduce body roll during any sharp turns. And they are made of a durable microcellular urethane. This urethane will work in temperatures from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and this will resist damage that can be caused by oils, road salts and UV rays.They do offer minimal lateral expansion, meaning the springs will compress vertically instead of to the sides so that they aren't easily damaged when operating in tight spaces. And of course they are maintenance free. There's no tubing to run or air pressure to monitor like with air springs.
These are a simple no-drill installation. Basically after removing your factory jounce bumper from the vehicle, these will install into the factory jounce bumper retaining cup. It does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how these do install. Does include the two jounce style springs. If you notice, one of them has a notch to it.
That is for the driver's side. That will tell you that in the instructions.This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this, the weight capacity at 50% compression is 800 pounds. Installation was a straightforward and easy. The SumoSprings made a huge difference in the handling of the RV. The large sway left to right from wind or passing semi trucks has been effectively eliminated make the RV much more comfortable to drive.
These Sumo springs were a great upgrade. So easy to install, less than 20 minutes.
I installed front and rear on our 2025 Thor Quantum KW29. Very easy install for the front, rear's were a bit more work but nothing too difficult. My wife primarily drives the RV, it is "hers" :). She immediately noticed the difference in ride quality, less side-to-side rock/roll and was very pleased. Therefore, I am pleased. I look forward to a couple thousand mile trip shortly - that will make/ brake the four stars vs. five.
Ordering was easy and shipping was quick. Installation was Super easy, took longer to lift Motorhome and set Jack stands then to install The SumoSprings.
Ride was much smoother and body roll was much improved.
Very easy to install. I have not put very many miles on Rv but have noticed that there is much less swaying when going over uneven driveways. After installing these and and safe t plus steering it drives a lot better.
Installation in a 2022 Sierra 2500HD was easy, used large Channel locks to remove factory, new ones popped in by blocking them with wood wedge while vehicle was jacked up and releasing jack quickly so all weight would come down at once.
Only have aprox 100 miles on new Bump Stops but ride feels smoother as they are engaged at rest, unlike factory that engage on bumps. Need more miles to fully review.
Springs are good, working well. My Tacoma is stock (no lift). With the front end jacked up and wheel/tires totally suspended I was not able to get the springs mounted. I had to cut off about 1/4 inch of threads to get them into position to screw then in. Once that was done everything was ok.
Sumo Springs really helped with the bumps in the front of the 2019 Ford E350 Winnebago! Very happy with them. Super easy install even though a bit awkward to reach the spot.
Very easy installation. Would be nice if they were about 2” longer to get contact sooner but they were a good replacement for the hollow stock bump stops.

Fronts were done from above with wheel turned full right or left and load off that side with jack,rears jack to take off load only used large flat head screw drive to remove replace
improved side to side roll/sway ride is firmer went with the black capacity maybe yellow on rear if loads increase
these look like the perfect thing for my tired old helper springs, I put SumoSprings on my rear axel of my Jeep a year ago and the have made that ride much better hoping for the same with these.
Installed Sumo Springs on my 2019 Chevy 4500 motorhome, I was looking for ride improvement without breaking the bank. These days so many products are marketed well but never match the performance that was promised. That is not the case with Sumo Springs!!! I am very pleased with the ride improvement, sway is gone when transitioning from different levels of pavement and the shock of bumps is 50% better!! Installed myself on front and back in about 1 hour, front ended up about 3/8” higher after a couple days, got front end alignment done but didn’t need any adjustment. Finished a 400 mile road day today and my wife and I are very pleased. Excellent product!!
I’ve made several purchases from eTrailer and have been satisfied every time! Recently bought front and rear Sumo helper springs. Installation was a breeze. They have helped reduce the side to side sway caused by wind, freeway traffic and rough roads. So far im very happy with them.
Product is great, exceeded my expectations. Install is simple and straightforward. It’s a night and day difference in both the body roll and the handling small bumps all the way up to off-road conditions.
I have a Workhorse W22 chassis. I installed steering dampeners and HD sway bar to reduce the "loose" steering. After installing the SumoSprings Front Spring helpers on the front end, 90% of the looseness on the front end disappeared. It is now a pleasure to drive. Very little sway from passing trucks and cross winds. I will be installing a set on the rear this year.
Easy install and think they will help on long road trips with the camper

I have experienced a much better ride when not towing. I boon dock a lot and keep my 150 gal. bladder in the bed. The springs reduce the bounce on the front when a heavy load is in the bed which is the normal function and it is a noticeable difference from preinstallation.
It feels like it took a of the roughness out the bumps and washboard dirt roads
Excellent customer service as always. I do wish the reviews would be more consistently reviewing the specific item you select...sometimes I end up reading a bunch of irrelevant reviews for products that are merely "similar", but NOT the same.
To make it simple, it was the easy to install! It took about 15 minutes to install both helper springs.
Do you need to put a reference between your part number and the manufactures part number that you are getting the right part all the pictures are in black-and-white on the website the parts are blue in this case but nothing to tell you that you have the right part had to call and check out the numbers
Seem to work pretty good. 2019 ram 2500 4x4 front application. It was kinda hard getting them on but eventually got them on. I am in the rust capital of the United States "NY" but cleaned up the cup some and wd40 eventually went on.
