Roadmaster is the most reliable when it comes to flat tow wiring, including parts like this disconnect. This will allow you to disconnect the battery with the push of a button. If you don't already have your tow bar wiring, you can use the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267.

Do you have your tow bar, base plate, and brake system picked out already? Where are you headed once you get the Encore set up?

I self installed the battery disconnect on my 2024 Chevy Equinox AWD fairly quickly, just under two hours. Finding a place to run the wires through the firewall was the hardest part. I changed the location of the solenoid and push button to better serve my preference, however, with a little common sense it was quite easy. Be advised that with the battery disconnected, neither the power hatch or power door locks will operate. I suppose you can pull the manual key out of the remote if you prefer to travel with the toad door locked. We just travel with it unlocked and lock it at each stop. Sort of a reminder to run the car for a few minutes.

I have the Roadmaster battery disconnect installed on my 2024 FMC Sierra. It works great to kill the battery without having to open the hood.

Hello Phil, I am currently using the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect on my 2026 Buick Encore GX. I had this installed with the Blue Ox baseplate and the Roadmaster wiring kit. Both systems work well. Certainly makes getting into flat tow mode very simple. Put the car in N turn off the engine, then hit the disconnect switch. I have towed the car over 3K miles without incident. Works like a charm. mark

I’ve been using this battery disconnect on my 21 Encore GX AWD and it works fine. I installed the button under the hood. YouTube videos show that you’ll need to cut a plate that’s attached to your battery. Make sure you keep the towing speed under 65 mph.
