Which Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Brake Controller Kit Fits 2016 Toyota Tundra with Factory 7-Way

Question:
Probably the 20th person to ask, sorry. The descriptions seems to conflict. 2016 Tundra TRD with factory tow including brake controller. 4 way and 7wire. Description says: Confirmed to Fit 2016 Toyota Tundra Change Vehicle with factory 4-Flat with factory 7-Way ***without factory Tow Package*** so that doesnt make sense. please verify the right part or numbers and do I UNPLUG the factory harness to install this one? appreciate your help. Greg Rickey OEM one has failed twice, Im done with it

Hey Greg, the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED72CR that you referenced is correct brake controller kit for your 2016 Toyota Tundra TRD that has the factory tow package. I apologize for the confusing language but it fits a few different versions of the truck.
You will unplug the factory harness like you mentioned and this will plug in place of it.
What are you towing?

Hi Greg The unit I bought was for a 2022 Tacoma with the tow pkg. the tow package includes the pre wired harness running to the 7 Pin connector at the rear of the truck to a connector under the dash which, with the proper adaptor cable plugged into it plugged into brake controller. It was a snap to install and after it is calibrated works great. Hope this helps, once you figure out the install I think your going to love it.

I installed this in my 2016 Tundra works great. I put the knob on the left side, easy to reach. Way better than the factory one.

Well I used redarc tow pro liberty on my 2018 Tacoma 4x4 off road, pretty easy install with mounting bracket. I pull a 3700 lb camper and the trailer braking is excellent, easy to adjust. And wiring harness plug and go. Watched install video and helped a lot, hope this helps

Awesome. Spread axle Alcom Stealth cargo trailer. I do take it down a lot of gravel roads. Is the RED64UR a better option for me? It'll be roughly 4500lbs when loaded. Thanks for the clear and fast answer. I'll buy whichever is best today.
