Hello Wayne,

I’m glad you found us, thanks for reaching out.

That B&W hitch ball you mentioned, part # BWHB94009, can definitely be a little confusing. Even though it is rated for 30,000 lbs, it is not made for a standard ball mount. It has a 2 inch diameter threaded shank, which is much larger than what typical receiver ball mounts are designed to accept.

That ball is mainly used for older or specialty gooseneck hitches that have a threaded ball system, or for certain heavy duty and custom setups. Because of that, you will not find a regular ball mount that works with it, since it is outside of the normal sizing used for receiver hitches.

If you are towing from a receiver hitch, the better option is to go with a heavy duty adjustable ball mount that is already rated for that kind of weight and includes the correct hitch balls.

If you have a 2 inch receiver, a great option is the Patriot Hitches 4-Way 3-Ball Mount, part # PH22PR. For a 2-1/2 inch receiver, you can use part # PH62NR. Both are rated for 30K and are built for heavy duty towing setups like what you are looking at.

What kind of vehicle are you towing with, and was there a specific reason you were looking at that B&W ball? I’m happy to help make sure we get you set up with the right equipment.
