Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this PowerMax 50 amp PMTS series automatic transfer switch. Now this is an automatic transfer switch for RVs. It's going to make switching between shore power and a generator completely hands-free and totally safe. In an RV with 50 amp service, you usually have two possible power sources.
This switch is going to constantly monitor them and automatically choose the right one. So if you start the generator, it's gonna wait about 20 to 30 seconds to make sure that the voltage is stable, and then it's going to switch over, so your appliances aren't hit with dirty or fluctuating power. When you plug back into shore power, this is going to switch back on its own. Now one big benefit is going to be protection. This won't ever let the RV be connected to both power sources at the same time, which could damage the electrical system.
And this is also designed with a reliable relay system that's commonly used in motor homes, travel trailers, and even off-grid setups where people have multiple power inputs. So as you can see, I started our time together with the cover off. I'm gonna go ahead and pop the cover back on, and then I'm gonna go ahead and just give you some measurements here. So looking at the overall width, we're sitting right at eight inches wide. Overall height right at about eight and seven-eighths inches tall, almost nine inches tall.
And then the depth, about five and a quarter inches deep. And then this weighs roughly right at about six pounds or so. So this is gonna keep your RV powered safely and automatically, no matter which power source that you're using. And again, it's built for 50 amp RVs, and it's gonna work great as a replacement for older switches, or as an upgrade for anyone who wants hassle-free power management. As you probably already saw as well, there's gonna be knockout holes throughout this casing as well.
But if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about the switch or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out. We ultimately wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
