Question:

Does it make a difference how you install the stabilizer

Hey Jerry! As long as you follow the installation instructions for the Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer # ST28MR you can use whatever methods you want to install it.

This has a bolt on installation and you will need a socket wrench, torque wrench, open ended wrench, and rubber mallet for installation. There are also recommended items in the instructions, I went ahead and attached the link further down on this page.

What kind of motorhome do you have?

My son and I installed it on my 2022 Georgetown GT7. We did it on the concrete floor of my storage facility without having to lift it. It was cold but some cardboard helped. The instructions are simple and straightforward. Just make sure you follow them. Torquing to 250 ft lbs is difficult so make sure you have a breaker bar for leverage or a very long handled torque wrench. The instructions state deep well sockets, it’s a must. It took less than 30 minutes to install. I can tell the difference in handling just on the short drives I’ve done with it. The real test will come next month when I take it out on a windy day with I-80 trucks.

Thanks for the info, I had it installed by my Machanic that does all the alignments on my semi trucks and then he had to make some adjustments but it’s all good now. Thanks for all the help with my 2017 Discovery motorhome.
