Updated 04/06/2026 | Published 03/26/2026

Question:

Hello, I have the UFP Hub/Rotor Kit, 545, Zinc DB35, L68149/L44649 SKU: K08-435-05 Reference Number: 193272 Brand: Dexter On my boat trailer. I am looking for a bearing kit and any components I would need to repair/ replace it should I run into an issue on a trip. Can you please point me in the direction of what items I would need for this situation? To include grease and proper grease gun Thank you

Hey Eric, we have just what you are looking for with the bearing kit part # BK2-100 which comes with the bearings, races, washer, and seal. Another option that I think you might like is a pre-greased hub ready to slap on your spindle in case you have an issue so you can get back on the road as quickly as possible. For a hub/drum (if you have brakes) you'd want the # AKHD-545-35-K or if you need an idler hub part # AKIHUB-545-35-K. This would be minimal mess and minimal time lost.

But if you wanted to go the grease gun route we also have the part # L30132 which comes with grease as well. Has a bearing issue left you stranded before?

I recently replaced my boat trailer bearings and ordered everything thru etrailer. I have bearing buddy grease caps on my hubs. They require a specific grease seal designed for the Bearing Buddy. You use this seal in place of the seal supplied with the bearing kit. Got mine in a few days and had the replacement complete in a few hours.

@JeffD I replaced the bearings on my utility trailer with this kit. The kit was just fine and had all the parts I needed. The only thing that you will have to do is be sure you have the proper tools to get the races out that are pressed into the hub. I used a flat punch to drive out the old bearing races and a bearing installation kit to install the new ones . If you use the flat punch you must make sure that you don’t damage the hub by accidentally allowing the punch to contact the hub while you are driving it out. Driving them out and back in requires a lot of hammering and some finness to keep the bearing moving evenly so that it doesn’t get crooked. I repacked the bearing with wheel bearing grease and used the palm of my hand to force the grease into the bearing and cage. It’s an old technique I learned when I worked on my vehicles years ago.

Not that specifically, but I did have the whole tour fly off last year. I have surge disc brakes on my trailer, is there a kit that is already pre-greased for that like the drum?

@Eric do you know the brand of the disc brake setup you have? I can see if we have a hub/rotor that would fit but unlike the drum setups you have to match the brands.

@JamesonC I’ll have to check, I know it’s on a ranger trail trailer, but outside of that I’m not sure off the top of my head

@Eric Hopefully you'll see Kodiak or Dexter on the rotors themselves.
