Battery Disconnect for 2007 Ford F-250 with Dual Batteries

Published 03/23/2026

Question:

I have a 2007 Ford F250 that I use for towing our RV 1-2 times per year. Is there a battery disconnect that would work for this dual battery vehicle? I found that if i disconnect one battery, the other appears to keep running the accessories and draining the battery.

Hey Carlos, since your 2007 Ford F-250 that has two batteries is most likely a diesel engine you'd want to run two battery disconnect switches like the Roadmaster part # RM93MR which was designed for diesel engines like what you have that draw a lot more amperage to start the vehicle. How often do you flat tow the vehicle?

Yes it is a 6.0 diesel. Once or twice a year we tow a 34’ fifth wheel. I gather that there is not a single switch that could be wired to handle the 2 batteries simultaneously.

@CarlosI That's not something we have or that I could find elsewhere.
