Question:
I have an older travel trailer with 7000# axles with electric brakes. The 16inch rims use a 6 lug BOLT not nuts pattern and I have heard it is difficult to get parts for these axles. Can you help me determine if your complete brake assemblies will work? If they do, I would also like to convert to lug nuts.

We offer several electric trailer brake assemblies for 7000-lb axles, including the Hayes # 185100-150 which is a left-hand and right-hand brake assembly. These 12 x 2-inch brakes mount to 5-bolt brake flanges. The link will let you see all electric brakes compatible with 7000-lb axles.
If your current hubs use bolts to secure the wheels (rather than the more common lug nuts) you may be able to install screw-in studs in the hub's threaded holes that will then allow use of lug nuts to actually secure your wheels. You will need to know the hub's hole diameter and thread pitch (fine or coarse) in order to select appropriate screw-in studs.
For example, Redline Replacement Wheel Stud # 25-53 is 1/2- x 2-inches and uses a fine thread. Please refer to the linked video on this item. We also have 9/16- x 3-inch stud # 25-11 that has a coarse thread on the hub end and 3/4-inch diameter studs are also offered. You can enter 'screw in studs' in our search field to see what's available and use the filters to narrow the results based on the size you need.
