Will Hopkins Fold-Over 4 Flat Trailer Harness Bracket Work With Draw-Tite Tab?

Updated 03/12/2026 | Published 03/09/2026

Question:

I see there is a tab welded to hold the harness plug. What is the distance between the mounting holes on it? I am considering including the Hopkins fold over mount HM48595 with my order to hold the harness on that tab. Looks like a QandA on that part has its holes 2 inch apart. Thanks

Hey Matthew, I can get that info for you on the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76171.

Most trailer hitch receivers that have the trailer wiring tab, such as that Draw-Tite, will have a measurement of about 2-1/4" between the far two holes, and about 1-3/4" between the nearer holes.

You are correct that the Hopkins Fold-Over Mounting Bracket for 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48595 has a distance of about 2" between the holes. This will play nicely with the Draw-Tite's farther holes a 1/4" difference isn't going to be a big deal. Hopkins made the slots oblong so there is wiggle room for slightly different bolt patterns on the tab.

Let me know if you need anything else! What do you plan to use the hitch for?

Thank you for the info! That is exactly what I need. I don't have any specific use case for adding the hitch to our Odyssey right now. It's "nice to have" or "just in case" so we can use a luggage/bike rack or tow a utility trailer if needed in the future. I did get an OEM Honda hitch harness I'll install with it.

@Matthew You're very welcome, happy to help. And that's a good idea. A hitch is always handy to have on any vehicle!
