Should I Install A 2" Or 1-1/4" Hitch On My 2026 Honda HR-V?

Have a 2026 HRV sport, looking to pull my Yamaha waverunner around which is under 2k pounds... most of my ball mounts are 2inch but Im not against buying a new one.. for what Im hauling is it better to go with this hitch setup for 2, or the C68DR?

Hi Bill!
You could definitely go with the 1-1/4" hitch # C68DR for your 2026 Honda HR-V Sport, but I think you will be happier with the 2" # C27RJ. There are just more accessories available for the 2" receivers and, when available, is what I always recommend going with. Especially if you already have ball mounts that can be used with a 2" hitch.
Since you are going to be towing, you will also want to grab wiring. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C44NR is a plug and play harness, though you will need to run a wire up to the battery for needed power. This will be what you need to get the lights working on your WaveRunner working properly. If you wanted an interesting way to mount the 4-flat near the hitch, you could use the Eclipse Magnetic Mounting Bracket for 4-Way Flat # 306-X6019. The magnet is pretty dang strong and does a good job.
