Question:
I have a Retrax EQ Tonneau cover on my 2023 Ford F150 with T slots and want a low profile rack over the bed to put bike racks on, and want them easily removeable. I am looking at the 71 inch Rhino Rack Sportz Aero crossbars RR25AG, with the Quick Mount Legs RRRLT600, using the adapter kit RRT-FK1 and rubber bases RRQMFK06 for the bed rack and then using Rockymounts MachTen Roof bike racks RKY97MR as the bike holders. 1- Will this configuration fit my T-slots on the Retrax EQ and allow me to quickly remove the racks should I need to? 2- Will the RockyMounts racks work with the Sportz Aero bars? I appreciate your help!

Hello Raymond,
Thanks so much for laying all of that out. That definitely helps make sure we get you the right setup.
For your Retrax EQ with T-slots, the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs # RRRLT600 are designed to slide directly into those integrated tracks. Because of that, you will not need the adapter kit # RRT-FK1 or the rubber bases # RRQMFK06 for this application. Those parts are intended for surface-mounted track systems, and your Retrax already has the built-in channel system.
The 71 inch Rhino-Rack Sportz Aero Crossbars # RR25AG will attach directly to the Quick Mount Legs. This will give you a clean, low profile rack over the bed. The Quick Mount system is designed for easy removal, so you can loosen the legs and remove the crossbars without drilling and without interfering with normal operation of your Retrax cover.
As for the bike racks, the RockyMounts MachTen # RKY97MR are compatible with the Sportz Aero bars. The bars feature a top channel for T-bolt mounting and also work with clamp-style mounts, so you’ll be set there.
This setup will keep things solid and secure while still letting you remove the bars quickly whenever you need full bed access. I was a little bit of a skeptic when these new bars were released, well I now have them installed on my car and am a full believer! They are so quiet that I don't even know I have a roof rack up there.
What kind of bike do you have? Do you have a specific trail you like to ride? I am more of a hike than a rider, although looking to change that this year. We have the Katy Trail here in Missouri and it is always jam packed with riders when the weather is nice.
