Will Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs Fit RetraxPRO XR And Clear Locking Handle On 2022 Ford F-250

Updated 05/31/2026 | Published 05/24/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 F250 that I juat installed a Retrax Pro XR on. Im looking to add some crossbars so that I can add some bike racks for the kids and maybe a basket or something to use aome on trips. Would these feet be compatible with the t-rail slots on the retrax and give me the height to still operate the cover with the locking handle flipped up? Also what crossbars should I look at, preferably something that is somewhat flush and doesnt overhang the bed. Thanks.

Hey Greg! Yes, the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Sportz Crossbars # RRRLT600H will fit the T-slot rails on your RetraxPRO XR. For a set of four under one part number we have the # RRRLT600. Regarding the clearance, the handle won't clear as is so you will need to add in spacer blocks # RRQMVA25.

You can pair these with the Rhino-Rack Sportz Aero Crossbar # RR85AG (65") or # RR25AG (71") for a complete rack to carry your bikes/basket. I recommend grabbing a quick measurement between the rails to see which length would be the best fit for your setup.

Any favorite places to take the kids bike riding?

Greg. I don't see how to attach a photo but I have a Yakima box and a basket on the rails with a Riversmith rod case in the middle. These can be rearranged or removed easily. I also use a cab height rack for kayaks etc. All are easy on off. The Retrax handle does catch a bit on the legs but not a big deal. Just fold it down a bit when it hits and the cover keeps retracting. I've used this on a GMC and now a Tundra. I had to replace the Retrax cover but all else was interchangeable.

Greg. Update on your question...the latch does clear the Rhino posts. Mine barely hit the mounting brackets of the Yakima box. I could remedy that by switching mounts to T slot but it's not that big of a deal . I sent pics back to E trailer. Maybe they will post them for you.

@PhilH I appreciate you taking the time to share. I would love to post your pictures. Unfortunately, they haven't figure out how to make that work yet in our comments on these pages and I can't retroactively add it to the original answer either.

@RobinH Thanks for the insight and part numbers. I am currently in the process of checking everything out and checking on some accessories that may interest me. Do you have any suggestions on bike racks? They don't have to be anything extravagant as they are just for my kids bikes, 7 and 3. Also, to your previous question, they like to peddle around just about anywhere. We're headed down to the beach at the end of the month so Im trying to get a few things together before then.

@GregH you could use the Malone Pilot # MPG2103 or RockyMounts TomaHawk # RKY1222 for bike racks without getting too extravagant. We don't have that rod case Phil mentioned, but since I can see his photos he has the Yakima DeepSpace 10 # Y65RR mounted on one side with a SkinnyWarrior # Y07014 on the other with that rod carrier in the middle. Sounds like you've got a fun trip coming up. A basket like the SkinnyWarrior is great for beach gear too like chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, and other items you'd rather keep out of the cab. Let me know if you need anything else before you head out!
