Will Vision S+ Allow View Beyond F-150 Cab on Class A Motorhome

Updated 02/25/2026 | Published 02/21/2026

Question:

Hello, Im looking for a rear view camera primarily for visibility while merging into lanes. This is for a class A rv towing a F150 super crew and 6.5 bed. The current onboard camera works but I cannot see the rear of my truck, it stops just behind the cab. I thought maybe the Furrion 7 Vision S+ may work. Your thoughts on this item or suggestions.

Hey Jim, welcome back! The Furrion Vision S+ # FR57AD is a great option and will allow you to see further back behind the truck. The camera itself is adjustable from 0-50º so you can get it right where you need it for your setup.

Since your main concern is visibility when changing lanes, you may want to consider the Furrion Vision S+ Wireless RV Observation System w/ 3 Cameras # FR64AD. This adds the side marker cameras so you will really be able to see back there while you're traveling.

Where are you headed next with your motorhome?

Thank-you for the reply Robin. I have another question about these systems. If I buy the Vision S+ with the wireless rear camera can I add the other two later if I decide to? My RV has the original Triple Vision system in it and still works fine also synchronized with the turn signals to show either side while they are used. It also works well when backing the RV up. This new camera is to give me a view farther behind the RV so I can actually see beyond the rear of my pickup when I am towing it. The rear of my pickup is 23' behind the RV

@JimR you sure can! The basic system # FR57AD supports up to four cameras so you can add more at any time if you need them. If you switch to the Furrion side cameras you will be able to see all three at once on the monitor.

@RobinH After looking at the back of my RV I came up with another concern with the rear camera mount. My plans are to mount this camera in addition to my stock Triple Vision camera system already installed in the RV, this is a Class A diesel pusher. The top back of my RV has somewhat of a overhang where the back comes up vertical to within approximately 10" of the roof then curves backward with approximately 45 degree up to the roof. This more or less imitates the shark fin rear camera mount angle when it's mounted on a vertical surface. Mounting that rear shark fin camera on that surface would probably result in the camera pointing straight down directly behind the RV. For this mount to work it would have to roll back up in the sharkfin a considerable amount to give me a view beyond the back of my towed vehicle. Guess I could mount it below this lower on the back of the RV which would still probably be 10' over the road surface and well over the top of my towed vehicle. Although getting power may be a challenge! Can't find where anyone has had this issue and all the install's seem to be on vertical surfaces so I think I'm the pioneer on this type of install.

@Jim if you want to mount it in that same position it is probably possible with a little modification. You can add in some kind of wedge, like a plastic block, cut to offset that angle and still mount the shark fin vertically. That would let you avoid running power to a different location.
