Does the Curt RVI series 4 portable flat tow braking system work with power brakes with vehicle off? Does it overcome the lack of power in power brakes?

Hello Tom, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Curt RVI Series 4 # RVI44FR will work just fine with vehicles that have power brakes, even when the engine is off. It does not rely on the vehicle’s vacuum booster to apply the brakes. The unit provides its own braking force, so it can activate the pedal and slow the vehicle down without the engine running. Even though the pedal would normally feel stiff with the engine off, the RVI system is designed to handle that and still give you smooth braking while flat towing.
