Hey there Richard!
You are correct in thinking you'll need a standard 7 way plug at the back of your 2025 Ford Maverick in order to tow a trailer that has the Tekonsha Prodigy trailer-mounted brake controller. The Tekonsha 22128 7 way harness (our old part number tk902503) is the correct fit, but for some reason it is no longer active on our site. You can try direct with Tekonsha but no promises.
As a backup option, you can install the custom plug-and-play 4 way kit # TK53VR and then convert it to a 7 way with # ETBC7. This will do the same job as the aforementioned discontinued harness that is no longer active on our site.
