Hello Joe,

Great questions, I am glad you wrote in.

The Westin HDX Winch Mount Modular Grille Guard with Punch Plate - Black Powder Coated Steel # W88EC is going to be a great fit for your 2020 Toyota Tundra. It’s a heavy duty setup and gives you both front end protection and a winch mounting point in one clean package.

As far as how it mounts, this grille guard uses the factory tow hook locations on the frame. During installation, the factory tow hooks are removed and the Westin mounting brackets bolt directly into those same holes using the existing frame mounting points. So you are not drilling into the frame or doing anything extreme. It is designed to utilize factory attachment locations for a strong, secure fit.

You will not be able to reinstall the factory tow hooks once the HDX system is in place since the brackets use that space. Some minor trimming of the lower plastic valance is typically required so the support brackets can pass through cleanly, but it is only plastic trimming and nothing structural.

When it comes to the skid plate and oil changes, the kit does not require removal of the factory skid plate for installation. I also have not heard of any issues from customers being unable to perform their own oil changes after installing this grille guard. While space underneath can feel a bit tighter simply because of the added winch tray, it has not been known to prevent normal maintenance access.

What kind of winch do you have? What do you mainly use the winch for, work around the property, awesome offroad stuff?
