Features to know about

Stable Handling on Every Trip: Frame and Bed-Mounted Tie-Downs

These custom HappiJac tie-downs mount to both the bed and the bumper, locking your camper securely to your truck’s structure. The frame connection keeps the camper steady from all directions—up-down, side-to-side, and front-to-back—so it feels like part of the truck instead of cargo sitting on top of it. By distributing weight through the frame rather than the bed rails, you get a smoother, more balanced ride on pavement or off the beaten path.

Clean Look When You’re Not Camping: Discreet Anchor Points

When the camper’s off, you won’t be stuck with bulky brackets hanging out. The front plates sit mostly hidden between the cab and bed, while the powder-coated support braces tuck neatly underneath. In back, chrome-plated anchors mount to the bumper, and the removable couplers come off with a simple quarter-turn. What’s left behind are small, polished points that blend right in.

Close-up view of HappiJac chrome-plated discreet anchor points mounted on a truck bumper, showing low-profile camper tie-down attachment design.

Built for Real-World Use: Heavy-Duty Powder-Coated Steel

Each piece is made from strong steel for long-term durability. The powder-coated braces and chrome anchors resist rust and corrosion even after years of weather exposure. This setup is tough enough for heavy campers and rough roads without losing its finish or strength over time.

Simple Bolt-On Setup: Complete Front and Rear Kit

The kit includes two front brackets with support braces, two bumper braces, two rear anchors, and all installation hardware you need to get going. The custom fit allows everything to bolt directly into place without complicated modifications, giving you solid tie-down points ready for your turnbuckles (sold separately). Once installed, you’re set for secure hauling season after season.

Other than a bit of rust, I would rate it 5 stars. Wish there was an option to get stainless steel even though I know it would be more expensive. Overall satisfied and would purchase again

I am glad they are working well for you. It looks like you have a pretty sweet setup as well. Are you a full timer?

by:
Great product easy to put on and take off. Just make sure that you tighten the locking nut because I didn't the first time and they vibrated loose! Tightened them and they never came loose after that.

The tie down system for your rear bumper is horrible. They were corroded within 6 month.

It is important to lubricate all aftermarket items if they will be on the vehicle for any extended period of time. Next time, please contact etrailer.com as soon as possible as these had a 1 year warranty.

by:
easy to install with a simple toolset and a year later it still works as it should!
by:
This was fairly easy to install. There was just a bit of bending and tweaking and drilling, but I seem to recall that being caused by some abnormalities on my truck's frame. It's one year later- with the camper on my truck the whole time, and I haven't thought a moment about these things since I installed them.
by:
The instructions are unclear and have unreadable photos. Some of the instructions are plain wrong! I gave 2 stars for the quality of the components.
by:
Delivered on time

Instructions could have been much better ie; video available, as it took too much time trying to figure out the install.

Once installed appears to function very well

The mount kit feels nice and sturdy, but the threads on one of the black front brackets was damaged and needed to be chased with a thread tap. The silver turnbuckle style braces needed to be bent way differently on the side that goes to the black front bracket. Irritating that a kit this expensive needs any kind of modification to work. I have a 2010 Tundra 4x4 double cab.

I am sorry that it arrived damaged. I am surprised that the silver turnbuckle style braces needed to be modified to be installed. I wanted to ask a few questions so that I can trouble shoot it. Can you confirm if you had a 8- or 6-foot bed? Do you have a step board or step under the bed of the truck? Do you have a factory, aftermarket, or a Torklift hitch? Would you be able to send a picture?

@JennyN I took some bad pictures for you. I have a 2010 Tundra 6.5 foot bed, no steps or running boards currently but I think it came from the factory with running boards under the cab. I believe it has a factory receiver but hitch.

@Tim Thank you for the pictures. I shared the pictures and the feedback with the manufacturer. They apologized for the difficulty with the hardware and brackets. It was a confirmed that it was a fit for the 2010 Toyota Tundra without the running boards with the factory hitch.
by:
Secure, easy to install.
by:
Instructions were hard to follow. But once you hold the pieces up, one can figure out the mounts. Some drilling is potentially required.
by:
I had a little trouble getting the back ones on, but once they were on, they worked very well.

Gets the job done, solid for both the truck and camper. Install was easy enough. My complaint is the camper facing side of this has 2 small bolts - one on either side - that do not sit flush and have rubbed holes in the metal sheeting on my camper. The design would be better if these were recessed.

It was all pretty good. Went well. Installing acceptables provided to connect inside of the bed to the outside brackets were way too short. Had to go buy new bolts other than that worked great

  • Installation of the Rear Bumper Tie Downs of the HappiJac Truck-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs
Unfortunately we do not have a video of the HappiJac Truck-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # LC184089 being installed. The Rear anchors are installed in the end of the bumper. There is no precise mounting location since a variety of bumpers may be installed. The general guidelines are as follows: 1. Mounting location should be as flat & vertical as possible. 2. Be sure no moldings or bumper caps interfere with the removable coupler. 3. Check back side of selected mounting location to ensure adequate...

  • Recommended Bed Mounted Camper-Tie Downs For A 2020 GMC Sierra 2500
Hey Jeff, The only bed-mounted camper tie-downs we currently offer for your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 would be the Brophy Slide In Camper Tie-Downs # HSAB. These drop into the stake pockets and use "T-bolts" to press against the inside of the bedrails to lock the tie-downs in place. Since you have a 2020 model year you'll need the longer set of T-bolts # BR2007 to properly install the tie-downs. To complete your setup you'll also want a set of Brophy's turnbuckles # TDHP.

Hello Paul, thanks for reaching out. We do offer camper tie downs for your 2023 Chevy 2500 long bed, but unfortunately, we do not offer a bed-mounted system for this truck. The only option will be frame mounted tie downs and for that we have the Torklift Custom Tie Downs. The full front and rear tie down kit for your truck is part # TL67DR. Keep in mind that these are only for trucks with a factory installed hitch. Also they will not fit trucks with full length running boards that extend...

For your 2016 Toyota Tundra if you have the 8 foot bed without any steps that go past the cab of the truck you want TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front # TLT2305, these are for the front only. But if when you say standard, you mean the 6-1/2' bed then the answer is no the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # TLT2307 and # TLR3500 are not what you would want because they only fit the 5-1/2' bed. Instead you would want the HappiJac Truck-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs # LC184089 which fit the 6-1/2' bed. • Determining The Correct Turnbuckles To Connect To HappiJac Camper Tie-Downs
Since the bracket is going to sit lower you'll want to measure from the bracket of the # LC184089 up to the mounting point on the camper to determine the exact size needed. For example, the front turnbuckles of the HappiJac Original Turnbuckles for Camper Tie-Downs # LC182898 have a 16-1/2" minimum reach and 23-1/2" maximum reach. There are other options with a longer reach if you're needing more than 23-1/2" so let me know what you have and I'd be happy to find the right fit.
