Features to know about

Balanced Handling on Every Mile: Frame-Mounted Design

These frame-mounted tie-downs bolt directly to the truck’s frame, creating a solid connection that keeps your camper steady and your truck handling naturally. By distributing the camper’s weight evenly across the vehicle and lowering its center of gravity, they prevent sway and shifting—even on long, rough drives. That means a smoother ride with less stress on both your truck and camper.

Clean Look When You’re Not Hauling: Removable Arms

When the trip’s over, you can remove the arms and leave only the low-profile brackets tucked up under the frame. Because the brackets sit nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle, they’re barely visible. Your truck keeps its clean look without bulky hardware hanging down or catching road grime.

Install Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Mounts

These tie-downs use pre-existing holes in the frame for a bolt-on install, so there’s little to no drilling and no cutting or modifications required. The custom fit means a tight, precise mount with minimal loss of ground clearance. That makes them simple to install and easy to live with whether you’re hauling or not.

Built to Last: Powder-Coated Steel Construction

Made from black powder-coated steel, these tie-downs resist corrosion and hold up against weather and road debris. The heavy-duty build gives you confidence that your setup will stay solid trip after trip. When paired with rear tie-downs and turnbuckles (sold separately), you get a complete system designed for dependable performance over the long haul.

Video Transcript for Review of TorkLift Truck Camper Tie Downs - Custom Frame Mounted Front Camper Tie Downs - TL55HR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at these torque lift custom frame mounted front camper tie downs. Now these tie downs are gonna give you the attachment points that you need at the front of the truck bed for securing a bed mounted camper. Turn buckles are required to attach your camper to these front camper tie downs and those turn buckles are sold separately, but you can find 'em here at etrailer.com. Now these are designed to fit your 2019 to 2020 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500s with an eight foot bed and no running boards or cab length only boards, and with a factory hitch.

So on custom fit parts such as these front camper tie downs, it is essential that you use our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. You simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if these will work for you or if we have something comparable that'll work for you. There are gonna be some additional questions in that fit guide concerning what type of hitch that you have or what type of boards or if you have boards on your truck. So answer all those questions appropriately and our fit guide will point you in the right direction. So again, these are the front tie downs if you're looking for the rear as well, the fit guide will also give you that information.

We do also provide this in a kit where you can get both the front and the rear. Now these frame mounted tie downs, the design of them rather are going to ensure that you have excellent handling because as you probably know, securing your camper to your truck's base instead of its bed is going to better distribute the weight to keep your setup from being too top heavy. The brackets are going to fit tight to the frame of your truck, so there's really going to be no loss of ground clearance. These are basically gonna use pre-existing holes in the frame of your truck. So no drilling is gonna be required.

You're gonna receive the hardware that you need to get these mounted into place. And these steel tie down inserts secure to these durable steel receiver brackets and the inserts can be easily removed. Lemme give you a brief demonstration of that. So I'm just going to remove the included bale pin here and then I'm just gonna be able to easily remove the insert here. And so when you remove the insert, these are really going to be hardly noticeable at all at the bed of your truck.

You're really gonna have to look for these to see that you actually have tie downs under the bed of your truck. But these inserts, if you notice, do have two different holes here. So if your camper is a little bit wider, you're gonna use that first hole on the insert to have this tie down point stick out a little bit farther. If your camper's a little bit narrower, you can just move it into that second hole. And then, like I said, the included bale pins are gonna secure it into place. So I'm just gonna slide it into that first hole there and then replace the bale pin, just like that. And then we're secured in place just like that. Now these do feature a high impact powder coat finish. It's gonna give you protection against rust and corrosion. You're gonna receive everything that you see here on my table. You're gonna get two steel inserts, two steel brackets, the hardware, the instructions to guide you through that installation process. These do have a warranty, a lifetime warranty from torque lift, and I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

High quality product. TorkLift customer support is excellent. They mistakenly sent me two left inserts for the tie-downs. A quick call to customer support and they sent the correct part right out.

Installed on my 2020 F250 Supeduty, they were easy to install. They were missing a few pieces of hardware but etrailer got the parts shipped out the next day. The front driver side plate did take a little puzzle like twisting to get around the brake lines but wasn’t really that difficult. I also purchased the rear tie downs and they are even easier to install. The front and rear took about 3 hours total to install. I only needed to buy a 32mm socket for the suspension bolt.

The correct tiedowns are really nice and installed pretty easy.

I bought the TLC2220 for a low profile pop up cabover camper which I had for another Chevy 3/4 ton truck. The prior truck utilized a different attachment but was not available for my current 2012 Chevy truck. The TLC220 offers an excellent attachment point that is made out of thick well made steel and covered with a nice black powder coating. The instructions that came with the product should be thrown away. Pictures are poor, verbiage is incomplete and large gaps in the actual application. The saving grace is the video from etrailer. This is a great video. Complete, simple with no gaps and tells you exactly what the difficulties might be. This video even called out the socket sizes. Unfortunately the mate to this; the TLC 3212 rear mounts has a poor video with again gaps in application. And... again the TLC3212 written instructions is just fireplace starter material.

The ribs that were welded down the center were off-line by about a quarter inch and required some copious filing to get them to fit

4 stars, just cause of the written instructions. Could be clearer.

Product Review: F2016, 2012 Ford F250 extended cab 8' bed
I really like the Torklift front tiedowns. I didn't feel I had the skill to fab the front tiedowns. The rear however, are rather simple. 2 1/2" 1/4" wall square pipe slips inside the factory hitch receiver. I used 27" lengths. The factory Ford hitch receiver curves towards the rear axle. Drilled and tapped thru receiver and pipe to hold it. Happy with the quick service from etrailer.com!

Perfect fit for it's function every time. This was my second order and the instructions were clear and concise. Very solid build from the get go and no need to retorque.
I definitely recommend this company.
Even their customer service was outstanding.
Congratulations for your reliability.

The units appeared to be well made and were nicely painted. I installed them on my F150. The tools and hardware supplied were of good quality and installation was straight forward. Two people would have been great, but I was able to install both sides in a little less than an hour. The holes all line up very well. I like these better than the previous units I had on my 2013, as they do not stick out as far - so less noticeable. The extension arms come out at a very nice angle just under the body. I find these units with quality I expected and I think they will be highly functional in attaching my camper.

Great product. Fit just fine, no drilling or difficulty. Great customer service. I will purchase from E-Trailer again when in need of.... David C. Pennsylvania

As expected from TorkLift, good product, heavy duty, fast shipping.

by:

Well, we called you today to inform you that one of the three packages didn't arrive via UPS. You said it showed delivered so basically we go pound dirt. A package was delivered here that did not belong to us. I literally had to get in my vehicle and track down the UPS truck. Low and behold he still had my 3rd box on his truck. That is obviously not your fault but the final response from you was very disappointing. We spend thousands with etrailer

by:

The front mounts installed relatively easily with no drilling or modification. Instructions were ok, i recommend doing the passenger side first, as it has no gas tank in the wayand you will get the idea of the mount and order of tightening. I had to use double washers(provided) on the replacement bed bolt provided to make it work properly. The mounts themselves are solid and well made. Roughly .120 wall tubing. I sprayed cold galvanizing paint inside the tubes to prevent corrosion. etrailer’s service and shipping were top notch and fast. Total install about 4 hours, but I work slowly and take my time.

by:

Everything was as expected it came with all the hardware to complete the project. Naomi was wonderful on the phone helping to ensure the correct parts were ordered.

by:

The parts fit as they should and work as designed. The main challenge for installing is in the loosening of the leaf spring bolts. With out an impact wrench or access to a touch and a long breaker bar it would be next to impossible for an average person to install.

by:

I had the mountings professionally attached to the frame. The hatches can be easily removed when not in use( and I would recommend that to keep them from being stolen). Using chains and turnbuckles, I feel very comfortable with my truck camper staying where it is.. does not rock, very solid.
It’s nice to feel secure about my camper staying firmly attached.
It was worth the investment.

by:

Good fit and the video instructions make installation so much better.

by:

Jason was great to work with on getting the proper camper tie downs for my truck as it was a new truck and was a bit confused as to the proper application.
I had them installed within an hour. Even an armature bolt twister could do this!
I have used my camper a lot since putting these on my truck and will tell you these are THE MOST SECURE ANCHORS I have ever used on any of my trucks PERIOD!
You will not make a bad decision going with this product. I recommend these tie downs over any product available! I Don't normally give recommendations or endorse products. These I am truly impressed with.

Keep in mind the parameters of the application these may be different on another vehicle. Camper is a Northern lite 9-6. Vehicle Chevy 3500 LB SRW 4x4. Post install, in my opinion. I’d feel my comfortable if the ‘FastGun’ tie downs were facing opposing directions. Currently attaching to the designated anchor points all four FG’s angle from the TorkFit anchor point BACK towards the NL camper’s anchor points. This positively prevents the 3600 LB. camper from rearward movement. However FOWARD movement can and has occurred. After a necessary sudden braking event I checked my clearances and discovered that forward movement did occur. About, one inch. My NL slid far enough forward that contact was made between the vehicle and the camper. Realignment was necessary. From an Engineers perspective: the best anchorage would be achieved with the anchoring devices (FastGuns, in my case) installed in opposing directions. In the future I will be placing blocks between the camper and the front of the truck bed to eliminate any forward movement.

The best system one can get for worry free camping. Etrailer communication and service has been superb.

We originally installed Happijack tiedowns in 2013 because that was the only option that the dealer offered and they did well until we unexpectedly went over a large hump in a highway road damaging the front tiedowns and the bumper! Once the damage was repaired, we decided to go with the frame mounted Torklyft tiedowns, which, although not inexpensive, are superior in my opinion to the non-frame tiedowns. Earlier this year we replaced the rear tiedowns prior to a trip to Alaska and they worked extremely well over the notoriously challenging roads thru the Yukon Territory and Alaska “highways”. Upon our return we replaced the front Happijack tiedowns with the Torklyft frame mounted tiedowns and so far are very pleased with the upgrade.

by:

The camper tie down are solid and well worth the money. I installed them on my f250 to hold my camper and I just get in and go. Even in the mountain terrain.

by:

Product came promptly, however, part of the tie-down was sticking out through the box when delivered. Stronger packaging is suggested. Everything fit well and instructions were quite handy, making much of the otherwise difficult installation easier. There was mention of possible alteration of the emergency brake cable support if it was a manual system. Extra parts were even included if needed. However, on a 2025, 5.5' F-150, nothing was said about a main exhaust support being in the way of the passenger side's installation. The tie-downs are now installed but I'm still trying to figure out how to re-install the muffler support.

by:

These tiedowns were great. They fit my 2023 ford f350 4wd crew cab perfectly. They bolted on using existing holes and they included wire feeders to feed the bolts through all the holes. Everything was included in the kit and installation was pretty simple. Probably took an hour or so. Directions were very good and easy to follow. They hold my camper down very securely and are adjustable for various widths. Also easy to drill different hokes for custom widths. I highly recommend this tie down for this model truck.

by:

This is the third set, third vehicle, I have installed these camper tie-downs on. Once you are used to torklift instructions/ pictures the installation is not that hard ( even for me at 74 years old). The torklift product itself is well made and works great.

  • Are there Replacmenet Slide in Arms for Torklift Camper Tiedown available?
Sorry to hear that happened Frederick, Unfortunately, TorkLift does not offer the slide in arms as replacement parts. You would most likely need to purchase new tie downs to replace the damaged arms. If you'd like, send me the part number of your current TorkLift tie-downs or your truck's year, make, model, and bed length, and I'd be happy to help identify the correct replacement kit. What camper and turnbuckles are you using?
