Will Furrion Chill Cube Fit 2024 Tiffin Open Road with Ceiling Ducts
Updated 02/16/2026 | Published 02/10/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2024 Tiffin Open Road. All ducted in the ceiling. If I replace my current AC with the Furrion Chill Cube, will I have to cut into the roof, and will it work with the current electronic set up keypad? Thanks

Hey Darin, the Furrion Chill Cube part # FR49TD was designed to fit ducted applications like what you have so it would fit the ceiling as-is without any modifications to the roof or ceiling. Your current thermostat will not work with it though and you would need to use the one that is included. The included thermostat and remote gives you ability to allow the remote to be a mobile thermostat if you want which is a feature our customers really like and unique only to the Chill Cube.
What AC setup do you have currently?

I purchased the Furrion 18K Chill Cube a month ago but I haven't gotten to install it yet. The package I purchased had the Ducted Air Handler and the Furrion thermostat. I am replacing the 15K Coleman Mach as well. I have installed the thermostat and I've verified the furnace works correctly in my 2019 Winnebago View. When the weather breaks and I can round up some help, I will install it. If you are not getting the Furrion thermostat and you are using the remote only, the installation should be pretty straight forward. The roof opening is standard 14 X 14. Just cap off wiring coming from the AirXCEL thermostat that comes with the Coleman at the roof. The only thing necessary is the power wiring. In this scenario you will need to keep the AirXCEL thermostat in place to control the furnace. If you have purchased the single zone thermostat adapter kit, you will need to use the existing Coleman control wiring. There should be more than enough conductors. I had 5 but you only need 4 for the Furrion (+12, GND, Comm A and Comm B) If your Coleman is like mine, it is a heat pump as well and can also call for help from the furnace. That is what the 5th wire is for.

One 15,000 BTU Coleman-Mach (front) and one 13,000 BTU (rear). Looking to get more cooling power.
