Will Gen-Y Cushioned Pin Box to Gooseneck Adapter Void Warranty of RV Frame

Hi, I am looking into purchase of a 2022 Avalanche 295RK will a gy38FR void the chassis frame warrantee and or cause frame flex ?

Hey Andy, at this time the Gen-Y pin box to gooseneck coupler adapters like the part # GY38FR are still not listed as being compatible with the warranty of the frame of your 2022 Avalanche 295RK. That being said we haven't had any frame warranty issues that we are aware of with adapters like this and this is cushioned so it would help with the frame flex issues.

Now if you wanted a similar adapter that also fits and is approved for use with the Lippert chassis warranty we have the Goose Box from Reese part # RP85FR which is also cushioned. My parents have had the Goose Box for several years on a few RVs and really like it so I know you'd be happy with it. What gooseneck hitch do you have in your truck?

Hi Again, it seems I was misleading on my post question to you. the gen y was installed by the last owner, its a consigned sale Iam looking at . I was looking at the rail connection for my dually and wondered if the gen y would be the reason the Keystone Avalanche has a crack on the front drivers side under the bed slideout. So my answer was no, gen y not an approved listed device and could have caused symptoms of frame flex. In checking when lifting the RV the gen y only moves up about 3/4th of an inch, so its not really frame flex but Iam not sure now if I will purchase the Avalanche. The current gooseneck in my dually is the Anderson Ultimate black edition looking to the Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails - 3" Offset - 25,000 lbs - 16055

@AndyS I wouldn't think that the Gen-Y is the reason the frame cracked but anything is possible. The Andersen Ultimate requires a pin box though right?
