Availability of Replacement B&W Companion Base for 2025 Ram 2500 With Prep Package

Question:

I have a companion hitch in my 2004 Duramax. I just bought a new 2025 Ram that I need a puck base for. Do you have any used models that would work for me?

Hey Steve! The base you need for your 2025 Ram 2500 is the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram # BWRVB3600. Easy install. You need a ft/lb torque wrench. Follow B&W directions to install. Lube or not lube the plate is optional in my opinion.

I have been using B&W 5th wheel hitches for at least 20 years. I had the goose neck models in my 2004 and 2007 Dodge 3500 pick up's. Recently I traded my 2004 for 2016 newer model and had to upgrade to the newer base. I was able to just purchase the base as my top part was interchangeable and made the transition very easy and less costly. I have retired my 2007 truck from the 5th wheel configuration and now only use it to pull an airstream trailer. That said I have a complete hitch, and and extra goose neck mount style base if anyone needs a good used one! Good luck! B&W equipment is the best!

Steve, Robin asked if I’d be interested in responding to your message. Sounds like we maybe had about the same set up in our older trucks, I had 2006 F-250 super duty with gooseneck B&W base. I bought 2024 Ram with puck system. I bought the same base for my Ram you’re asking about. The best part is it’s interchangeable with the top part of hitch that connects to my 5th wheel.
