Where to Find Stoplight Circuit for Brake Controller Install 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 01/30/2026

Question:

I have a 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy model SUV. I am very interested in the Redarc brake controller and wonder if your tachs could point me very specifically to a connection point for the “trigger” red wire for the brake controller. On much older vehicles I have used a brake lamp wire but with newer LED lamps that is no longer a good option.

Hey Mark, welcome back! We can definitely help find the brake signal wire on your 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe. Basically it's down at the brake pedal switch. Under the dash there's a switch on the brake pedal that will have a wire that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and none when released. Use that for the red wire of the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED52VR. It was definitely easier back in the day wiring things to older cars!

If you don't have a circuit tester we have the part # PTW2993 that will make it easier since it comes with a hook and probe for easier circuit identification.
