Does the etrailer Hitch e98848 Block the Liftgate Sensors on a 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid?

Question:

2023 Honda hybrid -what are the chances of the hands free of opening of the liftgate not working after installing the hitch? If by chance the hands does not work, what can be done to correct it? Is there a solution……thanks for any tips

Hey Ed. The hitches for your 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid, like our etrailer item # e98848, all block the sensor in the middle of your bumper where the 2" receiver sits. You would need to kick to the left or right of the center of your bumper to find an area that the receiver does not block.

As an alternative you could install the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch item # EH25KR. This hitch has a removable 2" receiver. When you're not using your hitch you can completely remove the receiver and have full range of your liftgate sensors.

My Ecohitch Stealth hitch receiver was installed and the foot-motion liftgate sensor was moved slightly to the right of the bumper. I’ve had it for a year and it’s still working fine.
