Yes, Alan - PowerMax converters are a direct replacement for several common standalone converter models. For example:

- # PM34VR 45 amp replaces WFCO WF-9845

- # PM94VR 55 amp replaces WFCO WF-9855

- # PM84VR 100 amp replaces WFCO WF-68100, Progressive Dynamics PD-9180, PD-9280, and Iota DLS-90IQ4

These are all converter-only units that feed a DC fuse panel, not integrated power centers. As long as your existing converter is a standalone unit and not built into a power center, the PowerMax equivalent will fill the same role.

If you’re unsure which style you have, feel free to tell me the model and I can help confirm it.

Does this still apply if the converter is mounted inside a cabinet but separate from the fuse panel?

@Greg Yes, as long as it’s a standalone converter and not built into a power center, the same replacement logic applies. Being mounted in a cabinet doesn’t change how it functions electrically. I will say, some of them can be hard to get out if there's not much clearance!
