Question:
Will the PowerMax converter run my 12V lights and water pump when I’m plugged into shore power, or does it only charge the battery?

Great question, Mark. PowerMax converters like the # PM44VR 60 amp - along with the # PM34VR 45 amp, # PM94VR 55 amp, and # PM84VR 100 amp - do both jobs at the same time when you’re plugged into shore power or running a generator.
They convert the incoming AC power to 12V DC and send that power directly to your DC distribution panel, so your 12v lights, 12v water pump, 12v fans, and other 12V accessories run normally. At the same time, the converter also sends current to the battery to recharge it. When shore power is disconnected, the converter automatically shuts off and your battery automatically takes over powering the DC system/panel- no switching required.
Just keep in mind these are converter-only units, not power centers, so they need to be connected to an existing fused DC distribution panel for safe operation. If you have a power center with a built-in converter already then let me know since that is a totally different setup that you'll need!
What kind of RV or trailer are you installing this in?
