Question:
Im looking for a disc brake conversion kit for my 2023 Alliance 295MK, VIN 7M5FP3427PB202461. Do any of these kits offer replacement pads that can be picked up at an auto parts store?

Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. We should have exactly what you need to convert your Alliance trailer to disc brakes. There is no way to use the VIN to look up exactly what you need though. There just isn't a universal VIN database for campers like there is for motor vehicles.
The main thing I need to know is what axles your camper has, and hub/bearing info. The best way to find this our is using the casting number on your hubs. Brake drums should have a casting number right on the front and in most cases, we can use this to pull up the hub/bearing info. There should be a tag on the axle that shows the weight capacity, and that will help narrow things down too. Once we have that nailed down, I am happy to recommend a kit.
For example, the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE66AR is for standard 7,000 lb axles. It comes with the actuator, brake line kit, hub/rotors, brackets, calipers and brake pads. Everything you need to convert from electric drum brakes to EOH disc brakes.
The trailer brake pads are brand specific to the calipers. The kit I mentioned above must be used with the DeeMaxx # DE35YR brake pads. Typically, this is not something your average auto parts store would have. Replacement pads are readily available though, so getting your hands on some down the line will not be a problem. This will be the case for any trailer brake kit. The pads are different from automotive brake pads.
Get me that casting number/axle info and I can definitely make sure you get the right stuff.

Hey Michael, were you able to find the casting number or axle tag info on your Alliance trailer? Once you had that, did the DeeMaxx disc brake kit end up being the right match? Your update could make it easier for others trying to choose the right conversion setup.
