Question:
Im getting a 2022 Coachman Apex 29foot RV in June. It will have a 3inch axle with a 7,000 lb rating. The trailers empty weight is just under 5,000 lbs to a max of 7,000 lbs. Which system would be the best? Im considering either the RM-2460-2570Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers - Tandem 7K Trailer Axles - RM-2460-2570inch or... This system, Lippert Center Point by Trailair Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade - Tandem Axle. Do I need to add shock absorbers with the center point air ride system or is it not necessary? Thanks

Both the Roadmaster Comfort Ride kit part # RM-2460-2570 and the Lippert Center Point part # LC1565391 are really excellent options that will make a huge difference in ride quality. The difference between these kits in terms of ride quality will be pretty small but if I was in your situation I would probably go with the Comfort Ride system as shocks are a little simpler than air ride components. The Center Point is reliable but it is something you have to check on to make sure the air pressure is held. I would say the Center Point might give you a slight advantage in ride quality but it does take a little more maintenance. The Center Point also does add some ride height at 2 inches so that might be a pro or a con depending on if you like that or not.
The Comfort Ride system is basically a set it and forget it improvement which is what I prefer since you'll already probably have a lot to keep track of anyway.
