Recommended Bearing Protectors To Replace Vault Pressurized Bearing Protectors

Question:

my existing boat trailer wheel hub system is hybrid ufp oil with vault pressurized bearing protectors. i regreased with sta lube grease instead of oil. ranger dual axle trailer. can i still use the vault spring loaded caps or should i use eze lube dust caps? grease zerks wont fit behind vault

Since the Vault Hybrid Lubrication System uses a specific hybrid oil which you did not use when re-greasing your bearings, you will not want to reuse the Vault bearing protectors.

Instead I recommend going with the Bearing Buddy bearing protectors, but the correct one will be depend on the hub bore of your hubs.

I recommend using digital calipers like # PTW80157 to measure your hub bore as shown in the included diagram.

For example the the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 1980A # BB1980A-SS fit a hub bore of 1.980". If this matches your hub bore this would be a great replacement option.

If you can let me know the hub bore dimension of your hub I would be happy to recommend the correct bearing protector for you.
