No need to pack bearings or fuss with seals before hitting the road. This CE Smith hub comes pre-greased with a heavy-duty, marine-grade lubricant and is fully assembled with both inner and outer L44649 bearings, L44610 races, and a 12192TB double-lip grease seal. Everything’s already in place and ready to slide onto your spindle, saving time and keeping things clean. It’s rated for 2,700-lb axles with a 1,350-lb capacity per hub, designed for wheels up to 14".
Saltwater and moisture are tough on trailer parts, but this hub is built to hold up. The strong cast iron body is painted black for durability, while the zinc-plated lug nuts, cotter pin, and grease cap help limit corrosion in damp or salty environments. The double-lip seal keeps water out and grease in, so bearings stay smooth and protected even when launching or hauling in wet conditions.
When you’re replacing a hub or packing a spare for emergencies, having all the right parts together matters. This kit includes the hub, bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap, lug nuts, cotter pin—and even a carrying case with a handle to keep everything clean and organized. It’s ideal for storing onboard so you’ve always got a backup ready when you need it most.
The hub’s 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern fits standard 8" to 14" trailer wheels with 1/2" studs measuring 1-7/8" long. With the bearing races already pressed in from the factory and the grease pre-loaded, setup is quick and simple—just mount it up and torque down the lug nuts. The 1.98" hub bore makes it compatible with matching dust caps or bearing protectors when you want easy access for future maintenance.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

The hub is packaged in a case so they can be carried as a spare. But for some reason the box mine is packaged in is damaged and won’t stay shut. Kind of makes me wonder if the hub is going to fit in work in an emergency situation. I don’t know?

Purchased two hub assemblies. Both hubs arrived with bearings that had only a small amount of grease. Both will need to be repacked. Paint is chipped off in many places on one hub.

What was the most beneficial to me was that you had a toll free customer support line that I utilized. First of all the representative that answered my call was polite and professional. If you own an older trailer, or are having issues with hubs on your trailer, then you owe it to yourself to purchase this hub assembly! It was a simple process to swap out out "the old for the new". As always, the etrailer people are there to provide help for you if necessary.

Everything is still working A-OK ! Simple solution for a pain in the a__ problem ! And the price was right, too. Just remember to check and grease fittings when necessary.
All parts were exactly as expected. The reason I took one star away is because of the “pre-greasing.” Yes the hub had grease but the bearings were not packed at all. I could completely see through the gaps and had to remove and grease pack each one before installing.

Since installation the hubs and bearings have worked flawlessly. I haul my boat to and from local ponds and have never once had an issue. I would definitely recommend these products and this company.

I am sure the product is of average quality, however when you purchase multiple items from etrailer (some of substantial weight) and they box everything together without any packing materials to keep fragile items safe, the comfort and likeness of purchasing items through this retailer drops. Brought this up with their customer service, and they said it was packed properly.
The rear bearing seal that came with the product is what is in the listing.
Ordered 2 in carry case box . Shorted on carry case . 1 Was in ratty greasy plastic bag . Smith for sure good product poorly executed.
Container for holding the hub kit was damaged, neither latch will lock when closed. Hoping the hub itself isn’t damaged, will dig into tomorrow..
