I am looking for a replacement for a TDA model 66 trailer actuator NON disk brakes. Can you tell me which actuator would be best replacement. Respectfully

Hey Bill. To replace your Tie Down Model 66 actuator for drum brakes, I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator item # DM72VR. It has a 7,000 lbs capacity, fits a 3" wide channel tongue, and will work with a 2" hitch ball.

The Demco item # DM72VR includes the EZ latch coupler, which is automatic self-latching mechanism, that does not require grease or maintenance.

There is not going to be a direct replacement for your exact setup as Tie Down Engineering no longer manufacturers these. You will need to have the Actuator LP7000 cut out of your swing away front coupler. Then you will be able to weld in a section…

Unless you had a set of free-backing plates on your boat trailer you would need to install a reverse lockout like the Titan part #T4748800 to back the trailer up with the Demco Actuator part #DM72VR since this is for drum brakes.

Your Tie Down Model 66 can easily be replaced by one of our actuators. The Titan part #T43397007K would be a great drum brake option that has a 7,000 lb capacity and can fit 2 inch or 1-7/8 inch hitch balls.
