Can Power Cord be Used if Partially Rolled Up on MORryde Easy Reel Spooler
Updated 01/02/2026 | Published 12/28/2025 >
Question:
Does the cord have to be unspooled before use or can it remain plugged in and partially reeled out?

Hey Ben, the MORryde Easy Reel Spooler # MR47RR that you referenced is not designed to be used like that unfortunately. You would put one end of the cord into the middle of the spool and then reel it all up when not in use. What that means is that you can't access the other end at all if it's on the reel so it has to totally come off of it.

I have never been close enough to a power pedestal to keep it on the reel. Also I think the product will last longer if kept out of the environment.

Jameson is correct about the rolling up. Try using a shorter length power cord for closer connections and a longer power cord for the longer runs.
