Hi Rick!

The TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # TS42VR will indeed fit your 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Just be aware that, if present, the tie down bracket from the bottom of the passenger-side frame rail will need to be removed when doing the install. It will also likely interfere with the Hands-free Liftgate sensors, but the function will not be lost. You will just need to place your foot on either side of the hitch receiver tube to find the spot that actuates it.

Thank you for your help. The hitch will be used to support future e-bikes. I installed this same hitch on our 2020 Toyota RAV4 which is not a hybrid and it was so easy, fit perfect. Thanks again for your support.

@Rick I installed one a year ago on a 2024 RAV4 plug in hybrid. I followed the directions from etrailer and it was a tight fit but doable. We did it with 2 people in less than an hour. You definitely want 2 people and a regular crowfoot wrench doesn’t work it needs to be the extended one.

I installed this hitch on our 2025 RAV4 Hybrid with no issues. I followed instructions & even watched a YouTube video on it. We did remove the "tie down bracket" (i believe that it is a tow hook?). t was helpful to have two people. I did not have to cut or modify anything underneath. Our hatch works just fine. We do Not have the Foot switch option on our model.
