Replacement Brakes And Hubs For A 3,500 Pound Lippert Hub 126003

Updated 12/12/2025 | Published 12/11/2025

Question:

I have electric brakes on a Lipert Hub 126003. I need to replace the hubs and Brake assembly. Its on a 3500 lb EZ lube axel with 15 inch tires. Are Parts AKHD-545-35-EZ-K and AKEBRK-35-SA a good replacement? Or do you suggest something else.

Hi Todd!

For the hub, the Lippert 126003 is a pretty standard 3,500 pound option, so that makes it easy to replace. The Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles - 10" - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K will be a perfect fit. It has the same 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and the same inner and outer bearings. If you want to have extra bearings, that would be the # BK2-100. Never hurts to have spares.

The etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # AKEBRK-35-SA is also what I was going to recommend. Self adjusting brakes are way easier to live with than manual adjusting options. 3,500 pound brakes are pretty standard as well, so no issues there.

Just be aware the brakes come as a pair and the hubs are sold individually. So you will need 2 hubs if you are doing one axle and only one brake set.

What kind of trailer are you replacing these on?

Awsome, I will be replacing both hubs and brake assemblies. When I was doing a repack I noticed that the e brake was groving the inside of the hub on one side. It was deep, so im doing a complete redo. Its a Hiker square drop trailer that only weighs about 2k and I added brakes to it because I do travel in the mountains quite a bit. Thanks for the reply Todd Thies

@ToddT Those are cool campers! We see them come through here every now and then and some people trick them out pretty seriously. Which mountains are you typically camping in?
