Question:
Hello, My son has a 21 Ram 1500 Big Horn, and tows a 24 car trailer. The trailer makes the truck sag pretty bad and from what I have read, a load distribution hitch would be a lot safer and help with some of the sag as well. Can you recommend one of these weight distribution hitches? Im not sure what I am looking for with regard to the different brands, ratings, and options. Thanks. Jim

Hey James! A weight distribution hitch is definitely the best way to reduce that rear sag. It will also cut down on sway for a much improved towing experience. The correct hitch depends on the tongue weight of your setup. As of recently, I'm a big fan of the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch.
This system is easy to adjust and has a built in scale so you can make sure it is set perfectly every time, no matter how you have the trailer loaded. I'm not sure what the specs are on that trailer but we have the # WS79VR rated for up to 850/8,500 lbs of tongue weight/trailer weight and then the # WS94RR rated for 1,200/12,500 lbs. It doesn't look like the 2021 Ram 1500 is capable of towing more than that so one of these two will work for that car trailer.
Do you know what kind of trailer he has?
