Hi Ken; that doesn't sound like a good time at all. Are you sure you want to get another Blue Ox tow bar? Although it isn't incredibly frequent, we hear stories like yours far more often with Blue Ox. I would consider getting a Roadmaster tow bar designed for your Blue Ox base plate like the Roadmaster Falcon 3HD # RM67QX instead.

As far as inspections are concerned, you can either take it by a local RV shop that is familiar with tow bars or send it off to the manufacturer if you're really concerned. If you get a Roadmaster tow bar and catch them at a local event they will actually service it for you free of charge while you're there.

Hey Ken, how did things go with the Roadmaster Falcon 3HD tow bar you were considering? Did you find a good place to have it inspected or serviced? Your update could make it easier for others worried about keeping their tow bars in top shape.
