Question:

Can I still use stake pockets or bed rails on my 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 6-1/2' bed with the Fas-Top Pro Tonneau FT42MV installed?

Good question, Jaime. The Fas-Top soft tonneau cover # FT42MV for your 2025 Sierra 1500 (and Silverado 1500) with 6-1/2' bed just clamps to the top of the bed rails but leaves the stake pockets mostly open. Keep in mind the stake pockets will be somewhat blocked, so it does depend on what accessory you are wanting to add. You can still use rail-mounted tie-downs # FT25YJ on the tonneau cover rails, or add the JayBar # FT97MJ later without any mods or drilling.

Are you planning to add crossbars or just use the utility track on that tonneau cover rail?

Silverado and Sierra owners, what is your tonneau or ladder rack setup?

Thanks Andrew. I was thinking about mounting a set of tie-down cleats for a small ladder and maybe a kayak. Do those Fas-Top tie-downs actually hold well, or should I get something heavier duty?

@Jaime Hey Jaime, those Fas-Top aluminum tie-downs # FT25YJ are stronger than they look - each one’s rated for about 200 lbs working load, and they slide right into the built-in rail channel on your # FT42MV. They’re plenty for a kayak or ladder if you meant that it would be in the bed of the truck. But if you’re planning to haul multiple kayaks or heavier gear, stepping up to a ladder rack like the JayBar # FT97MJ would be most ideal since this works directly with the existing Fas-Top tonneau cover rails. Are you planning to transport your kayak often, or just occasionally for trips?
