Can Solera Awning with 18V Rechargeable Battery be Hooked to 12V House Battery Instead?

Question:
I have a Solera electric awning with a small RC battery in the awning arm which has to be charged. I’m wanting to connect it to my 12v battery in my trailer. Can I just bypass the battery in the awning arm and just hook it to my 12v car battery? Thanks in advance Brian

Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out!
Your Solera awning runs off of 18V power so you we'll need to get you setup with different arms so the 12V power from your battery works with it.
To upgrade your arms to the 12V power you need the Solera Regal Electric RV Awning Hardware Kit # LC28DX. This has 69" arms so you'll have the same basic size and dimensions when all is said and done.
Are you just tired of having to recharge the battery to operate your awning?
