Solution For Powering Voyager Wisight 2.0 Monitor With 12v Cigarette Liter Power Cord

Updated 09/03/2025 | Published 08/15/2025

Question:

I have a Voyager Wisight 2.0, this has a 12V plugin for the monitor. New trucks do not have this feature in the cab, they have been replaced with USB. 1 Is there a cord that connects to a USB? 2 I can purchase a USB to Cigarette Liter adapter, with this work? 3 Can the cord be modified to with with a USB port? 4 if none of those options are viable, what are my options? , I cant be the only person with this issue.

Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. I can't think of any reason why a USB to Cigarette Liter adapter wouln't work for that. As long as it is providing constant 12v to the monitor it should be fine. My only hesitation is a lot of those adapters I see online look very cheap so I do question the reliability and druability a bit.

A much more reliable solution would be to install a permanent 12v outlet in the cab of your truck. Take a look at the following:

Hey Brian, did you decide to go with the USB to Cigarette Lighter adapter or install the 12V outlet in your truck? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it might help others facing the same issue.

@JesseM I did purchase the usb c to a cigarette lighter. That worked fine, I was really hoping to not have that extra hardware in my truck and there would be a cable with the usb connector.

@Brian Well glad to hear the adapter is doing its job. Don't knock it if it works, right? Feel free to come back anytime you need anything!
