Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2025 Ford F-350 w/ the Puck System and a 6-3/4' Bed

Question:

Hi- I’m considering a BandW companion 5th wheel slider hitch for my 2025 Ford F-350 6 3/4 bed. If I go with a slider, would I be able to adjust the arms so the hitch sits 3” ahead of the axle as opposed to 1”? Or would I be getting too close to the rear window? Also, would there be a noticeable improvement having the hitch 3” ahead of the rear axle? Thank you for your advice!

Hey Jeff. You can indeed orientate the arms of the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package item # BWRVK3370 so the kingpin sits 3" in front of the axle. It depends on the shape of your 5th wheel trailer's nose but I recommend putting the arms at the 1" in front of the axle position.

The closer you get to the cab is going to improve weight distribution but you've got a whole lot of truck with that F-350. With that short of a bed, I would be more concerned with clearance.

What kind of 5th wheel trailer do you have?

@JeffK You're welcome! That's a nice setup with a pretty short nose. Depending on how far your kingpin is away from the edge you might be able to get away with the 3" in front of the axle adjustment on the B&W item # BWRVK3370.
