Availability of AC With Heat Pump for 1999 Lance Truck Bed Camper
Updated 07/22/2025 | Published 07/16/2025 >
Question:
I want to add AC to Lance 1999 cab over camper, I prefer 12v system and was thinking of one with a heat pump as well. The camper does have a propane heater. None of the systems seem to have a heat pump on your site. I was planning on using one of the existing roof vents, The battery system/recharger/solar will be added to the camper as well. camper is paired to a ford superduty. hoping for long use in summer.

Hey Michael! Anything on the smaller side like the Velit 2000R RV AC w/ Remote # VE77QV you were looking at is going to be AC only. If you want an option with a heat pump you will need a bigger AC system like the Furrion Chill HE Low-Profile RV AC System w/ Heat Pump # FR86AD (white) or # FR76AD (black).
Since this is a low profile unit it will be a good fit for your camper and it still fits a standard vent opening. The only downside is you will need shore power or a generator to keep it running. If that isn't an option for you, I would stick with something like the Velit and use a space heater to supplement if you need more heat than your propane heater can provide.

Thank you for the reply. That is what I thought (my plan is storage batteries with a victron inverter to make 110 v, or use a 12 volt system directly, which is what I am leaning towards). I am sure I will find ways to spend more at your site, you and your team has been helpful. Michael
