Simple Installation

Advent Air AC Installation 15,000 BTU

Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple. Most AC units are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.

Advent Air AC Collapsible Gasket and Foam Pads

On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't needed. Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

In order to fully complete installation, this AC needs to be paired with a 2025 or newer Advent Air air distribution box and thermostat.

Additional Accessories

Additional accessories can be purchased separately to improve the performance of your Advent Air AC unit. The start capacitor (ACMSCKIT) improves the performance of your AC by using stored energy to jumpstart it. And the electric heat strip (ADV34QR) removes the chill on cold or frosty mornings in your RV, ensuring you stay comfortable. Please note that the heat strip will only work on Advent Air AC units.

Advent Air Warranty Coverage

2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.

If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Installed it, turn it on and the blower wheel exploded. Will have to order a new one or get a warranty replacement.

by:

Excellent company to do business with! If you have a problem they are quick to respond.

by:

Easy install using previous Dometic Blizzard NXT controller, roof top mounted setup, 2019 Keystone Montana. Works well.

by:

So far a controller and two thermostats have failed. Puts out cold air when working properly.

by:

Junk. First one the fan was defective and hit the inside of the foam and the whole unit rattled extremely loud. I sent it back and got another one and the compressor doese not kick on. Save your money and buy something else

by:

Easy installation and works wonderfully

by:

Have not installed the unit yet. However customer service deserves a 5 star rating. Way to go Etrailer!

by:

Great service! Great prices! I had a question and technician answered quickly and explained everything.
Boxes arrived intact. Was kept informed about when it would ship, that it had shipped and had arrived and where they had dropped it off.
Was truly great experience! Will recommend to my other RVing friends!

by:

Just turned the AC unit on for the first time this season at the campground and no cold air. The compressor turns on for a few seconds then kicks off. 2nd Advent with issues.

by:

It literally took a half hour to install. I’m so happy that I did it myself and I would recommend it to anybody. Today is July 5 and it’s 106 outside here in AZ and I’m inside my trailer, nice and cool, excellent product.

by:

Easy install. Borrowed a duct jack from a friend to get it on the roof and get old unit off . Unit is operating great . Think I will be pleased with this A/C. It is plug and play . I increased the size from 13,500 btu to 15,000 btu. Will help with efficiency also. I live in my camper. I need the A/C to work well . I have Multiple Sclerosis and very sensitive to the heat. Very good price . Your website is very user friendly .

Wow what a difference a new RV AC makes. I needed a new AC for a 2019 Mallard M260. First I want to say thank you to Katie. I was a little unsure what replacement unit I needed, yet Katie asked me for information about my old unit and found this Advent AC would be a perfect replacement for our Dometic AC. The unit was delivered on time and installing the Advent unit took about 30 minutes. No adjustment necessary. The low profile looks great, customer service great. I plan to bookmark Etrailer website for future use.

by:

etrailer staff is exceptionally helpful and resolves problems professionally.. the advent ac came with a broken squirrel wheel, no damage noted on the evaporator styrofoam cover. Fan lock up and broken parts fell out. Call etrailer and quickly connected to warranty company and new part on the way.

by:

Item arrived damaged by UPS. I contacted etrailer & they are sending a replacement. Very good customer service. As you can looks like the unit was thrown around during shipping.

by:

Dropped the old Dometic off my roof while doing a repair. I’m now glad this happened because it forced a great upgrade. This unit matched right up to my Dometic Airbox perfectly. The low profile unit is much smaller than the Dometic, without sacrificing any performance.

by:

Required a minor repair. This is the second unit I order from Etrailer. Both arrived with minor dents in the metal gray pan. Once both units were installed, about 16 months apart, each unit had the fan that blows air into the RV, rubbing against the Styrofoam enclosure. A slight readjustment to the upper Styrofoam piece corrected the issue. Both units replaced Dometic units and it was very easy install. Disconnect the six pin connector, unscrew four bolts and pull the sensor for the coils.

by:

Bought this unit to replace the original Dometic unit and man what an upgrade!! Hardest part of the installation was getting new unit set and old unit pulled, after that it was following directions and wiring in power. I purchased and installed the new air control box with it and it’s just plug and play, not sure it could have been simpler. This new unit is SOOO much nicer and quieter than the old one! Love the 3 speed fan and thermostat on the control box. I also installed the heat strip and start capacitor to complete the set up, super easy and ready for deer season now! Thanks etrailer!

by:

Y'all have always been speedy to keep my customers happy with timely service and good product.

by:

Was not happy it did not come with mounting bolts.

by:

Yeah, I ordered the a/c which came in two parts. They didn’t match up, one part older than the other. It was sold to me that way, and unfortunately for me, when it was discovered, it was too late for a refund. The point is, I should have received the correct parts at the very beginning…

by:

At this point we have not had a really hot weather yet but i am a little disappointed at what seem to be a slower fan speed apparently resulting in less air movement in the ducts. I have resealed the air box well to keep warm air and cold from mixing in the air box. I even replaced the foil tape around edges of the air box going into the ceiling ducting. Hopefully on a hot day it will perform as needed.

by:

Easy installation. Plug and play replacing my Dometic AC. Just installed today. 22 degrees difference between supply and return air. I’d give it a five but I have to see how it’s doing in a few months.

by:

Unit showed up with a dent in the frame next to the compressor. It ran two days and started giving trouble. Fan would not come on. Believe we are dealing with a weak capacitor. Going to test further to make sure the fan isn’t tripping the thermal overload.

by:

A true plugin and play roof top rv ac. Will at etrailer was very helpful and knowledgeable. Shipping was outstanding, I ordered the ac on Wednesday and it arrived to my place on Friday. The old ac was removed and the new one installed in about an hour and a half.

  • Is There A Good Replacement 15K BTU AC Unit For Older Duo Therm 600315.331 13.5K BTU AC?
Hey Soraya! Yes, the Advent Air # ADV76SR is a good replacement option for your 13,500 Btu Duo-Therm 600315.331. Since your current unit is also 13,500 Btu, this keeps you in the same cooling range instead of jumping up to a larger 15K unit. If your current 13.5K unit kept the camper comfortable, I’d stay with that same size rather than automatically jumping to a 15K unit. The # ADV76SR is also low-profile, so it’s a nice choice if you want to keep the roof height down. Just keep in mind...

  • Low Profile AC Unit For Class C Motorhome - Complete RV Air Conditioning System With Thermostat
Hey Kenji! Yes, the Advent Air # ADV76SR is the rooftop AC unit only, so you’ll need the interior components to complete the system. For this unit, pair it with the Advent Air air distribution box with wall-mounted thermostat # ADV98SR, which works for ducted or ductless setups. The big reason to choose # ADV76SR is the low-profile design. It measures 10-1/8 inches tall and gives you 13,500 Btu of cooling, so it’s a good option when roof height matters. What AC setup is on your Class C...

  • Low Profile Replacement AC System For Roof Of Class C Motorhome
Hey Reina! Yes, if clearance is the thing you’re trying to improve, the Advent Air # ADV76SR is the one I’d look at. It’s a 13,500 Btu low-profile rooftop AC that sits just 10-1/8 inches tall, so it keeps the roofline lower than a lot of standard-height RV ACs. Just keep in mind # ADV76SR is the rooftop unit only. To complete the system, pair it with the Advent Air air distribution box with wall-mounted thermostat # ADV98SR, which works for ducted or ductless setups. If your current 13.5K...

  • Low Profile AC Unit Setup For Small Camper That Has To Be Short To Fit Into Shop Gargage Door
Hey Maren! Yes, the Advent Air # ADV76SR is a good direction if your old 13,500 Btu unit cooled the camper well and you want to stay in that same size range. It’s a 13,500 Btu low-profile rooftop AC, so it gives you real RV cooling without jumping up to a 15K unit. It's only about 10-1/2" tall, compared to most units being about 13-1/2" tall. Since # ADV76SR is the rooftop unit only, pair it with the Advent Air air distribution box with wall-mounted thermostat # ADV98SR to complete the...

  • Replacing Old Duo Therm 13,500 BTU Air Conditioner In Keystone Travel Trailer
Hey Selene! Yes, the Advent Air # ADV76SR makes sense if your current 13,500 Btu AC has been keeping up and you want to stay in that same cooling range. It’s a 13,500 Btu low-profile rooftop unit in black, so it’s a nice pick when you want less bulk up on the roof. Just remember # ADV76SR is the rooftop unit only. To complete the setup, pair it with the Advent Air air distribution box with wall-mounted thermostat # ADV98SR, which works for ducted or ductless systems. Is your current Duo-Therm...

  • Low Profile Modern AC System For Class C Motorhome
Hey Mateo! The Advent Air # ADV76SR makes a lot of sense if rooftop height is one of your main concerns. It’s a low-profile unit that measures 10-1/8 inches tall, so it sits several inches lower than many standard-profile RV AC units. It also weighs 69 lbs and is rated at 13,500 Btu, which puts it in that useful range for many motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. The main thing to keep clear is that # ADV76SR is the rooftop AC unit only. It is not a complete system by itself,...

  • Adding Low Profile Air Conditioner Setup To DIY Camper Build
Hey Imani! The Advent Air # ADV76SR is a good pick if you want a black low-profile rooftop unit. It’s 10-1/8 inches tall, rated at 13,500 Btu, and works for ducted or ductless setups when paired with the Advent Air air distribution box with wall-mounted thermostat # ADV98SR. That makes it a nice flexible route for a DIY build since you can use the same distribution kit whether you keep it direct-discharge or build ducting into the ceiling. • Is There An AC Unit For Cargo Trailer Camper Conversion That Doesn't Add Much Height To The Roof?
Hey Farid! For a DIY build where roof height matters, I’d start with the Advent Air low-profile # ADV76SR. It’s only 10-1/8 inches tall and gives you 13,500 Btu of cooling, so it’s a nice fit when you want a lower-profile black rooftop unit. That AC is the rooftop unit only, so you’ll pair it with the Advent Air air distribution box with wall-mounted thermostat # ADV98SR. That interior kit works for ducted or ductless setups, which is handy on a build where you’re still deciding how you...
