Issues With My Furrion Chill HE Freezing Over

Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 06/30/2025

Question:

Hi, 2024 forest river wolf 18RRBL toy hauler. It has the Furrion Chill HE 15k Roof AC and its freezing over. I want to change the Replacement Controller for Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioners - Manual - but they all say R32 and mine says R410A. The one i have looks like the FR48TD with the manual buttons and the temperature or thermostats bronze NOT the bullet type sensor that goes in the coil. It has the blue plastic to hold the bullet style sensor but it doesnt have one. Do you have it and if so which one is it? Do you also have the capacitor so i can keep as spare? Thx

Hey Ivan,

The replacement controller # FR48TD is only compatible with new units after 2024 with the R32 refrigerant. After 2024 all AC manufacturers switched to this new refrigerant making replacement parts not compatible with old units. That is the only controller we have so it would not be compatible with your unit being a 410. If you are able to find a model number off of your unit I can check if there is anything that would be able to replace that for you. I would recommend thinking about going with a new system like # FR83TD with the R32 since that is what everything has switched over to, you are going to have a much easier time finding replacement parts.

The capacitor would be the same, we do not carry any that are compatible with the 410 refrigerant any longer. How old is your system?

Hey Ivan, did you manage to find a solution for your Furrion Chill AC unit? I'm curious if you decided to go with a new system like the one I suggested. If you're still looking for a solution, I'm here to help!
