Size Wrench for Nut of BAJA Collection Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball and Hitch Pin # TS27VR

Published 06/18/2025

Question:

What size wrench do I need to tighten the nut on this ball hitch? I tested a 1-1/2” on the nut, but it seemed too loose. Using a caliper, I can tell that the closest fit would really be a 1-15/16”, but haven’t been able to find that size. I don’t know if a 16th of an inch too big would cause it to round over the hex nut or not. What do you suggest?

Hey Stanford, do you have a 1-15/16 inch wrench? That would be the correct size based on the measurement you took for the nut of the # TS27VR.

So sorry, I meant to type 1-15/32”. That is what I came up with a caliper. That is 1/32 of an inch smaller than a one and a half inch wrench. I don’t have one, because I have been unable to find it at the usual sources. The one that you have for this purpose is a 1-1/2. Since I already had this size,I tried it, but it was a little too loose.
