What Size Wrench is Needed for a 2" Hitch Ball with 1 Inch Diameter Shank

The nut size is 1.5inch yet the info states Requires socket size: 1-7/8. Should I not need a 1.5inch socket as 1 7/8inch is too large? Thanks

You will need a 1-1/2" wrench like part # C20001 in order to install the nut on the 2" Hitch Ball part # 63845. A 1-7/8" wrench would be much too large.

You can have a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball on either a 1 inch or 1-1/4 inch shank. The nut on a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank takes a wrench with a 1-7/8 inch socket. A hitch ball with a 1 inch shank will take a wrench with a 1-1/2 inch socket. You…
