Replacement Leaf Springs for Montana HC 330RL 2020

Updated 06/24/2025 | Published 06/12/2025

Question:

Hello I am looking for a sagging Leaf Springs replacement for my Montana HC 330RL 2020 5th Wheel. Current Leaf Springs measurements: Width 45mm = 1.77” Eye to eye length 670mm= 26.4” loaded Axel diameter 76mm = 3” 2x Dexter 6,000-lb Trailer Axles Based on my research I can go with the following 2 options: 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-3/8 Long Part Number: DX65CR 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26 Long Part Number: e94SR 1. Would both of those options fit my trailer? 2. Are there any other options that I have missed? 3. What would be preferable option in my case? 4. What would be the right U-Bolt Kit for Mounting for that option?

Hey Jurijs, the correct leaf spring replacement you'd need is the part # e94SR which is the correct length and capacity. Springs tend to stretch and flatten as they wear out so what you have being a little longer would be correct for the # e94SR. There isn't an alternative to this spring that would be more ideal either.

Since your axles would be 3 inch in diameter the correct u-bolt kit would be the part # APUBR-8 that you referenced.

Hey Jameson, Thank you for your response. I happen to get to the part number for the leaf springs currently installed on my 5th wheel: Dexter 072-099-01 Does this change anything? Based on the specs: Manufacturer: Dexter Part Number: 072-099-01 Width: 1-3/4" Leaves: 5 Capacity: 3,500 lbs Arch: 3-1/2" Pack Thickness: 2" Center of Eye to Center of Eye: 25-3/4" Bushings: Bronze (9/16" ID) etrailer Trailer Leaf Springs - e94SR 26 Inch Long 6000 lbs 6 Leaf Arch: 4-1/4" 1-3/4 Inch Wide 9/16 Inch Eye Standard Grade Nylon Bushings The notable differences are: Capacity: 3,500 vs 3,000 lbs Center of Eye to Center of Eye: 25-3/4" vs 26" Arch: 3-1/2" vs 4-1/4" Thank you in advance for your response! @JurijsV Thanks for all of that info! That's really helpful. The spring I mentioned is a little longer but it will still work for you and is the best matching option we have.

Hello @JamesonC , I have orderede 94SR & APUBR-8 from the etrailer, received (thanks for a quick delivery) and replaced the Leaf Springs. Here a few photos comparing old to new setup. https://photos.google.com/album/AF1QipPGeMjV0dmCqrxbD9RO8CE9TL9GJNkV17DJej5P It looks to me that replacing the Leaf Springs was the right call, as the old once notably different (sagging/flat) comparing to the new. 2 observations: 1. The distance between the wheels now reduced from ~5-6inches to 3 inches (I think it is because of the 25-3/4" vs 26" Leaf Springs length difference). 2. The distance between left and right sides is by 1/2 inches different (3 vs 3.5 inch). Should I be worried about 1? Should I consider fixing 2? (what options available) Regards, Juirjs

@Jurijsv Is there any way you could email me the pictures as I am not able to open that link on my work computer. Usually we want more like 4 inches of clearance between tires but when the suspension is fully flexed down you'd need at least 1 inch.
