What Brackets are Needed to Install iKamper Tent on Rhino Rack Heavy Duty Cross Bars?

Question:

Hello I recently purchased the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Thule and Yakima Tracks - 2 Heavy-Duty Crossbars - Black - 54inch Bars for a leer camper shell. I got the system installed in the existing Thule tracks and was very happy. I then proceeded to mount an iKamper roof top tent and when we set the tent on the crossbars we realized the brackets for the RTT don’t fit the large heavy duty rhino rack bars. This project is for my sister she was previously running a Thule setup with the rapid tracker feet and correlating square bar however that failed and I was reluctant to install the same system, that’s what drew me to the heavy duty rhino rack setup. Is there an adapter you can recommend? Or some other alternative option. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello Josh,

The iKamper is not a brand that we carry. Based on my research, in order for you to install the iKamper tent on the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Thule and Yakima Tracks - 2 Heavy-Duty Crossbars - Black - 54" Bars # Y01-120B-NT you will need to use the older mounting brackets by iKamper, the "Mounting Brackets 1.0" I attached a picture of the brackets.

I tried to find a number to call iKamper, but I do not see that they have a number to call.

Super nice of you to help your sister with this! Do you have a roof top tent as well?
