Troubleshooting Lower Hitch Opening of Draw Tite Hitch Not Clicking into Place
Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/05/2025 >
Question:
My wife and I installed this hitch on her 2024 X3 30i, and it went smoothly. I even left a glowing review! Now that we have tried to actually use the receiver though, we are at a total loss. When we try to click the receiver into the vertical slot, it makes a loud click/pop sound, and snaps out of place vertically. Basically straight down in our hand, straight toward the ground. What could we be doing wrong? Ill probably try calling tomorrow 6 June 2025. Michael

Hey Michael, sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the lower hitch opening of your Draw Tite hitch part # DT56GR. I know it's been a couple days but have you gotten it figured out? Are you turning the dial to allow the opening to click into place and is it then rotating back when you hear the click?

Hey Michael, did you have a chance to try turning the dial to see if that helps the hitch click into place without snapping out? I'm asking because your experience could really help others who might face a similar issue.
