Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this Yates blue keel pad. This bump pad mounts to one of your trailer's three inch wide crossmembers to provide a scratch resistant cushion for your boat's keel. This is made in the USA of blue thermal-plasticized rubber, also known as TPR. It is non-marking, non-scratching material that is softer and more durable than traditional rubber, and softer and more pliant than polyurethane, so it's not gonna leave marks on your boat.
This is going to mount easily to your trailer frame. And this is going to work with your three inch wide trailer crossmember. The overall dimensions, looking at the length here, we're sitting right at 11 3/4 inches long. And the overall width is 3 1/2 inches. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.

They look nice, but I received some from Venture Trailer Company, manufactured by Tie Down Engineering which are 3" longer, measuring 15" long. I have not had time yet to install them on my trailer.
Installed just in case. Previously the hull would occasionally hit the cross member on the trailer depending on the ramp. I managed to raise the main bunks by one hole upward. Fixed the issue.
Keel pads were extra. Hopefully the boat never touches them. They have held up well, no fading, still soft.
Excellent keel pads. Mounted 4 on crossbars - triple axle trailer.
For some reason...this summer I accidently ripped the sternmost pad. So I ordered a replacement.

1 year later. Replacement keel pad is in perfect condition.
Easy to install. I secured it with aluminum rivets to my aluminum trailer. Very nice addition.

All of them look good on my trailer and I'm sure they will protect my catamaran keels, but I haven't finished restoring my boat in order test them out.

Seems to be just fine and the keel has not rubbed it off yet. It works in saltwater, then sits in the hot Florida sun the rest of the time, and has not hardened up yet.
